Visions for the Future
Values for a Lifetime
At St. Patrick School, we believe that education is about forming the whole child; mind, body, and spirit. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the rich tradition of Catholic education, our curriculum provides a rigorous academic foundation while nurturing each student's faith, character, and sense of purpose. Our curriculum is substantially equivalent to that of the public schools of New York State and is aligned with the New York State Learning Standards and the Diocese of Rockville Centre Curriculum Guidelines. As a Cognia Accredited School, St. Patrick School is committed to continuous improvement, educational excellence, and accountability, ensuring that our instructional program meets internationally recognized standards for teaching and learning.
Students receive comprehensive instruction in Religion, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, while also participating in a rich special area program that includes STEM, Spanish, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Our curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and problem solving, preparing students to become confident learners and compassionate leaders in an ever-changing world.
Faith is woven throughout every aspect of the school day. Religion is taught using the Word of Life curriculum facilitated by the Diocese of Rockville Centre, providing students with a strong foundation in Sacred Scripture, Catholic doctrine, prayer, the sacraments, moral formation, and discipleship. Classroom instruction is complemented by daily prayer, weekly school Mass, sacramental preparation, service learning, liturgical celebrations, and opportunities for Christian leadership, helping students develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ while living out the values of the Gospel.
Recognizing that every child is uniquely gifted, St. Patrick School is committed to meeting students where they are and helping them reach their fullest potential. Teachers employ research-based instructional practices, differentiated learning strategies, ongoing assessment, and educational technology to support individual growth while fostering curiosity, independence, and academic excellence. Learning extends beyond the classroom through hands-on STEM investigations, collaborative projects, fine arts, athletics, educational field experiences, leadership opportunities, and service to the local community.
St. Patrick School is dedicated to providing an inclusive learning environment that supports the needs of all students. In partnership with the Bay Shore Union Free School District, eligible students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) may receive support services on our campus, including Resource Room, Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT), in accordance with their IEPs and New York State regulations. Through ongoing collaboration among families, educators, and service providers, students receive the support necessary to flourish both academically and personally while remaining active members of our school community.
Graduates of St. Patrick School leave academically prepared, spiritually grounded, and equipped with the confidence, integrity, and resilience to succeed in high school and beyond. More than preparing students for the next stage of their education, our curriculum forms young men and women who are committed to lifelong learning, servant leadership, and living the Gospel in their families, communities, and future vocations.
